Welcome to Geekasaurus

Say Rawr!

Geekasaurus is a silly little comic about a geeky family. Specifically, my geeky family, and all the antics and hijinks of my daughter. You'll read along as we go on adventure after adventure, documenting the unexpected chuckles (and sometimes hard truths) along the way. As my husband and I learn to navigate being new parents, I'll be sharing the hilarity, one comic at a time.

In case you missed the great news – Geekasaurus is now a featured column on GeekMom! I’ll be posting the most recent comics on GeekMom and then they will magically appear here a week later. Well, “magically” meaning that I put them here while the Dinosaur takes a nap … if she takes a nap.

As most of you know, Wayne, Alice, and I go to conventions a lot, often dressed as Ghostbusters. Alice went to her first convention at two months old. We know and meet a lot of people dressed head to toe in what might be considered a frightening get-up to a lot of little kids. People ask all the time if she ever gets scared. Alice is a Dinosaur. She’s faced open heart surgery and she roars at puppies. So far (knock on wood) she hasn’t been frightened by a cosplay. She’s actually EXCITED seeing all of her friends in costume … except Santa. She had a hard time with that one. We often have to pull her away from the excitement before she gets overstimulated and refuses to take a nap.

Have I mentioned the lack of naps yet? Because she really isn’t taking enough naps.

Alice is always the star of the convention. I fight panic attacks and agoraphobia to go out and do the things that I love, meanwhile the tiny Dinosaur climbs up into Hell Girl’s arms and tries to play with her horns … don’t worry, we know Hell Girl. She’s a friend of ours. We don’t just pass the Dinosaur to ANY old cosplayer we randomly find at conventions … that’s just weird.

Supposedly she’s supposed to do this whole “stranger danger” thing, but it hasn’t happened yet. She’s super social and wants to say hello to everyone. Alice is your friendly neighborhood Ghostbuster, here to be your friend.
