In case you missed the great news – Geekasaurus is now a featured column on GeekMom! I’ll be posting the most recent comics on GeekMom and then they will magically appear here a week later. Well, “magically” meaning that I put them here while the Dinosaur takes a nap … if she takes a nap.

As most of you know, Wayne, Alice, and I go to conventions a lot, often dressed as Ghostbusters. Alice went to her first convention at two months old. We know and meet a lot of people dressed head to toe in what might be considered a frightening get-up to a lot of little kids. People ask all the time if she ever gets scared. Alice is a Dinosaur. She’s faced open heart surgery and she roars at puppies. So far (knock on wood) she hasn’t been frightened by a cosplay. She’s actually EXCITED seeing all of her friends in costume … except Santa. She had a hard time with that one. We often have to pull her away from the excitement before she gets overstimulated and refuses to take a nap.

Have I mentioned the lack of naps yet? Because she really isn’t taking enough naps.

Alice is always the star of the convention. I fight panic attacks and agoraphobia to go out and do the things that I love, meanwhile the tiny Dinosaur climbs up into Hell Girl’s arms and tries to play with her horns … don’t worry, we know Hell Girl. She’s a friend of ours. We don’t just pass the Dinosaur to ANY old cosplayer we randomly find at conventions … that’s just weird.

Supposedly she’s supposed to do this whole “stranger danger” thing, but it hasn’t happened yet. She’s super social and wants to say hello to everyone. Alice is your friendly neighborhood Ghostbuster, here to be your friend.

Say Rawr!

Geekasaurus is a silly little comic about a geeky family. Specifically, my geeky family, and all the antics and hijinks of my daughter. You’ll read along as we go on adventure after adventure, documenting the unexpected chuckles (and sometimes hard truths) along the way. As my husband and I learn to navigate being new parents, I’ll be sharing the hilarity, one comic at a time.

Procrastination Power

I'm a procrastiplanner. Basically, I procrastinate by doing something constructive, thus casting the illusion of productivity when I'm really just avoiding updating my website, working on my comic, or writing my novel. I tend to procrastiplan the...

Who’s On Patreon?

My Patreon is up and running! What’s Patreon, you ask? It’s like a giant tip jar for artists and creators. If you like something that a creative person is doing, you leave them a tip - as little as $1 a month. It doesn’t seem like a lot, but for...

Until We Meet Again

My grandmother passed away. It's been a surreal experience. I haven't cried yet and it has been two weeks already. Two weeks since I saw her; reality not really setting in that this was the end. No more sleepovers. No more calling up to ask about...

A Common Mistake

Feast your eyes upon a real situation that actually happened recently and occurs often enough for me to notice. Like, way too often. I’m talking about that thing - the mistake of assumptions. And you know what happens with assumptions, right?...

FIRST for Everything

It is competition season over at my house. The magnificent Wayne is a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) coordinator at a local non-profit afterschool program called New Heights. I have always been kinda jealous of his job. He gets...

CEL-E-BRATE Geek Moms, GeekMom!

I am SO EXCITED to share that Geekasaurus is now a regular feature on GeekMom! *fire the party cannon and dance in the streets like David Bowie!* GeekMom is a parenting, technology, and culture blog that gives a whole team of nerdy moms a platform...

Never Underestimate the Strength of a Baby

We’ve reached that phase … the dreaded scratch, bite, climb phase. Believe me, I love how my tiny Dinosaur is super active. She loves to move as if her entire being has led up to these moments full of laughter, joy, dancing, and speed. Considering...

A Valentine Comic

It’s the Dinosaur’s first Valentine’s Day! Yay! And I am determined to make it a love filled day of wonderful-ness. I have a small budget, a messy house, a clingy Alice, and my father-in-law is home all day ... Challenge accepted. Wayne’s coming...

All in a Day’s Work

Not much to update on today. I’ve been creating what I hope is a better home and work routine; setting aside time to write and create the comic a little bit at a time each day rather than trying to do one long creation sprint Tuesday before the...

Who Ya Gonna Call?

w00t! First post! I've gone and created a webcomic! I suppose now this means that I have to start drawing the next one. And then the one after that and the one after that and the one after that and so on through infinity. Could be worse. Out of all the jobs that I've...
