Alice has 8 teeth. She’s currently cutting another 3 or 4. Naps are short. Bedtime is a minefield of tears and laughter. All day long it’s the same song; pained and tired whining of a little girl who only wants to play with Mum’s hot coffee and very important iPad, despite having an iPad of her own to play with. Work gets deleted. Both Mum and Dinosaur have a meltdown. Tantrums ensue.
And this is THE week. Geekasaurus is making a debut at the New Hampshire Maker & Food Fest(formerly the Dover Mini Maker Faire) at The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire. It’s actually pretty perfect. Wayne and I had one of our early dates at The Children’s Museum. We got married and had the reception there. I had my very first gallery showing in their art gallery, Gallery 6. And, now that I’m really thinking about it, Wayne and I secretly celebrated my pregnancy with the Dinosaur at this very Maker Fest two years ago. It seems that some of the biggest launches of my life happen there.
I still have a lot to get done. Both of my websites need a TON of work. I have to pre-make my social media posts and next week’s comic because I won’t have time this weekend to work on anything. Packing up for the Friday night load in, finding all the lost thing, working on my marketing campaign, writing out and practicing my origin story, setting up MailChimp and writing a newsletter (omg I haven’t written a newsletter in MONTHS), printing out coloring pages, designing my business card … honestly, I didn’t wait until the last minute to do everything – I just need another 8 hours in my day every day. Well, as long as Alice sleeps for those 8 hours. And someone brings me a constant supply of coffee. And tacos. I’m craving tacos … oh shiznit! I forgot to put the carnitas in the crock pot!
Well, if you want to see a crazy lady crash and burn, or pick up a cool (and free) Geeksaurus sticker, get your butt and your family’s butts down to Dover, NH on Saturday, August 25th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Say hi. Tell me I look amazeballs and bring coffee.
