Welcome to Geekasaurus

Say Rawr!

Geekasaurus is a silly little comic about a geeky family. Specifically, my geeky family, and all the antics and hijinks of my daughter. You'll read along as we go on adventure after adventure, documenting the unexpected chuckles (and sometimes hard truths) along the way. As my husband and I learn to navigate being new parents, I'll be sharing the hilarity, one comic at a time.

Oh, bother! I’ve gone and created a blog space. Silly Kali …

Ultimately, what this means is that there is going to be a LOT more geekeriffic content for you to squee about. Assuming that you squee, that is. I know I do! I hope to fill this blog with interviews, reviews, videos, funny stories, helpful tips, and anything else nerdy enough to be part of Geekasaurus. Which I guess is pretty much everything nerdy. I paint with a broad brush.

In other news: if you haven’t noticed yet, I’ve gone digital. That’s right, I am now using my iPad, Pencil, and Procreate to make and delivery sparkling comics straight to your viewing screen of choice. Advantages = it will be faster for me to deliver more content, I can create content on-the-go and in any room of the house which means that I no longer have to sit in my unheated and uninsulated studio, and I won’t be stained or covered with spilled ink anymore! Disadvantages = I still am learning how to use this fancy-schmancy tech after YEARS of refusing to create art except in a traditional manner, I will always need a plug, and I won’t be stained or covered with spilled ink anymore … I have a love/hate relationship with messy art supplies.

For those of you concerned about the digital comic, fret not! I will still be practicing and posting more traditional works as I figure out my comic book concept, Welcome to Salvation (news to be delivered on this when there actually is news) and I haven’t stopped painting, drawing, or creating in traditional mediums, nor will I abandon them. Digital tech is just a tool, and we like tools. Tools are good. Tools are our friends.

If you want to be more immediately in-the-know, follow me on Facebook or Instagram – there’s lots of goodies happening over in social media land.

Until next time, friends! Allons-y!

– Your Friendly Neighborhood Cartoonist, Kali
