Welcome to Geekasaurus

Say Rawr!

Geekasaurus is a silly little comic about a geeky family. Specifically, my geeky family, and all the antics and hijinks of my daughter. You'll read along as we go on adventure after adventure, documenting the unexpected chuckles (and sometimes hard truths) along the way. As my husband and I learn to navigate being new parents, I'll be sharing the hilarity, one comic at a time.

True story. I was headed to work. It was one of two nights a month where I actually have a more traditional job. I work with adults with developmental disabilities. It was a Halloween themed dance so I dressed up as a witch. Normally, I would go as a Ghostbuster, but I wear the uniform all year round and it doesn’t feel like a Halloween costume to me anymore. I wanted to really dress up for Halloween. I used all the greens, blues, and purples from my Sephora eyeshadow kit on my face and I put on this amazeballs Urban Decay Limited Edition Through the Looking Glass lipstick in Time, which is described as “gunmetal-navy with silver shimmer.” I love this lipstick and do not wear it often enough. And yes, I geek out on makeup. It’s right up there with tabletop RPGs, Doctor Who, Star Trek, World of Warcraft, art/office supplies, Bob Ross, foxes, and bookstores.

Anywho, I gave Alice a kiss as I was leaving and I left a blue kiss mark on her forehead. When I wiped it off, she screamed and cried. Normally, she loves having her face wiped, but it was like she knew that I wiped the kiss away and she did not like that one bit. So, I put it back. She smiled and laughed.

And now, if I have lipstick on and give her a kiss, I don’t wipe the kiss off. It’s her kiss. Who am I to take it away from her?
